Thanks to you, our supporters, we have sent more than six milion rupees (£75,000) to Kolkata last year to fund Calcutta Rescue’s medical, educational and vocational projects. We desperately want to be able to match this level of funding next year and on into the future, so that all of the life-saving and life- changing work can continue. However, the total from one-off donations and other sources of funding in the UK has fallen markedly in recent years.
The best way for a small charity like our is to secure the future for all of our thousands of poor and destitute patients in Kolkata is for supporters to set up a standing order for regular donations. Some of you do this already and you are the backbone of the charity. Large or small, a regular monthly or annual donation means we know we can count on you. If everyone who receives this website setup a standing order for just £3 a month, we would be well on our way to meeting the six-million rupee challenge.
