Sealdah Clinic is another "makeshift" clinic located within the compound of Loreto Day School at Sealdah, Kolkata. This outpatients’ clinic has been running since 1996, thanks to Sister Cyril, and provides treatment to about 45 patients per day suffering from specific and chronic illness.
The activities are as follows:
Specialised care is provided for people suffering from diabetes, cardiac complaints (including
congenital valvular problems and ischaemic heart disease), cancer and neurological or urological conditions.
Doctors and staff liaise with hospitals for patients requiring cardiac surgery, dialysis or other in-patient treatment.
Preventative medical programmes like immunisation and health education, as well as distribution of nutritional and other
benefits, are also provided to target groups.
