A message from the UK recruiting team.

For many years CRF have recruited western volunteers to help run the projects in Calcutta, we will always require nurses, midwifes, and pharmacists, etc. Recently however things have changed, our volunteers have been working in Kolkata teaching the local salaried staff to do more of the nursing tasks and run many of the projects locally. Due to the growth of the clinics, better facilities, and positive interaction with local hospitals Calcutta Rescue is able to support a greater number of patients needing specialised care. The role of the nurses in Calcutta is forever changing and this year many of the posts have been reviewed. We are now looking for nurses with a more specialised role, Cardiology, Wound Care, and Infectious Diseases (including TB) to help on our ever-increasing Dots programmed, plus a Learning Disabilities nurse. The growth of our schools means that there is now a post for an Educationalist. We are also planning that in 2007 there will be new roles in finance and management, and the specialist nurses will now include HIV AIDS experts.

As always we are looking for dynamic people who are able to work in a challenging environment with in a diverse team with other volunteers from around the globe, the wonderful local Bengali staff and the many doctors and Indian personal. If you are well qualified, need a real change from the NHS, and you want to gain something positive out of life why don’t you get in touch? Its simple! Send us your CV or resume, and if we feel that you have what it takes to be part of our dynamic team, we will ask you to fill out an application form followed by a chat on the phone. If that goes well you will be invited to an Open Day to learn more about the work in Kolkata followed by an interview. All sponsored posts are for a minimum of 9 months. Why not get in touch or even better come along to Our Open day we would love to meet you?

We would also like to hear from past volunteers who could help with the volunteer recruiting, specifically the new volunteer interviewing, as we cannot interview in all UK regions, and recently returned volunteers often have more up to date knowledge of Calcutta Rescue Clinics than the UK based recruiting team.
